Are You Going Through A Divorce And Having To Short Sell Your Home?

Posted on Dec 30, 2011 in Roseville and Sacramento Short Sale FAQs

Thanks for joining me on my website; my name is Mark Peek and I’m your short sale specialist at Keller William’s Real Estate in the Roseville and Sacramento area. I specialize in helping people that are facing tough financial times or have underwater mortgages and help them find some financial relief by short selling their homes.

One of the more disturbing trends that I’ve noticed this year is more people getting divorced because of the tough economy, and because of this they are also forced to short sell their homes. I would say at least one quarter of my clientele are currently in this situation, getting divorced and being forced to short sell their home. A short sale transaction can already be a tricky one, but if both spouses are on the loan and going through a divorce, they both have to agree to the sale of the home. If their divorce isn’t finalized at the time of the sale, some circumstances may change, but as long as both names are on the home loan, they are both financially responsible for that home. If the divorce is finalized at the time of the short sale, they both still have to sign off on the short sale as well.

If you have a situation such as this, please give me a call and I can tell you about all of the different things you may want to look out for when attempting to do a short sale while going through a divorce. Again, please give me a call or click the "Start Here" button at the top of my webpage to contact me via email. I can help you through tough situations when it results in short selling your home, so please contact me, Mark Peek, today and allow me to inform and educate you on the process of short selling your home.
